Create "Online Submission Only" donor fields
Many MANY businesses have now established their own online donation request site. I got about a dozen of my request letters responded to by people telling me that I had to go to their website to apply for a donation.
Currently I'm using first name "Online" and last name "Only" to mark these for myself, and the "Notes" field for the web address, but this is cumbersome. Since it seems more and more prevalent, I don't think this is out of bounds, but rather the direction a lot of companies are going.
Creating a box marked "Online Submission Only" could pop up two new fields: One for the web address, and - more importantly - one with a date submission parameter, since many of these corporations also require that you submit 30, 60, or even 90 days in advance of your date needed. Next year I'm going to have to pull up all the information we've accumulated this year and right now it's looking like it will be a donor-by-donor search, which is not practical. I know you've rejected a similar request before but given the number of donors headed this way, and monies lost because we wasted time sending letters to companies instead of using their mandatory online request form, I feel this is extremely relevant, and essential moving forward. Please reconsider. Thank you!
