  1. Dutch Bidding

Allow for multi-sale (i.e. multi-winner) biddable packages. If there are 10 of the package available, then the highest 10 bidders would each win one.

Online dutch bidding will not be supported. It is too complicated for most bidders to understand. Even eBay has discontinued its dutch bidding feature for similar reasons. However, we are developing a solution to accommodate multiple-winner biddable packages for the silent/live auction – but not for eBidding.

All auction sales are recorded by bidder number. To sell an item to a guest, that guest must either have a bidder number, or be sharing another guest’s number,

  3. Unlimited Emails from RSA & Communications

First of all, it would be nice if we could send emails directly from RSA. It should not be limited to the solicitation letter, invitations etc.

I am constantly having to rewrite the procurement letter for different purposes. We have a snail mail version, a version for parents at our school, and an email version for businesses.

This is a large and complex task, which is why there are entire applications dedicated solely to sending email (Constant Contact, Mail Chimp, etc.). Those email applications do not offer auction management functionality, because for them, that would be a huge complex undertaking as well. Similarly, we focus on our core strength, which is auction management. We will continue to provide the basic targeted email functionality that we have today. But for more than that, there are other solutions.

  4. Saving CC info mandatory for event guest

When guests buy a ticket to the event, they should NOT be given the option to not save their credit card info. The cc info should be stored to pay for their purchases at the event.

Thank you for this idea. ReadySetAuction follows the guidelines and policies set forth by the PCI Council. Saving credit card information without the cardholders acknowledgement is against the PCI Council policies and ReadySetAcution has no plan to implement this idea.

  5. Allow for 2-3 customizable fields under donor status for ability to track additional items

Other than "asked", "donated", & "thanked", it would be a great to have 2-3 "customizable" fields that allow our procurement team to track other things that they require (ie. "prospects", "ask in 2015", etc)

  6. Have the ability to designate if a donation is from a business or a school family/other.

It would be helpful to have the ability to designate if a donation is from a business or a school family. For many schools the families are required to donate and some will get donations from businesses. It is important to be able to distinguish when a family procures from a business vs. when the business donates on their own.

It is already the case that a donation’s donor may be a business or individual. We have no plans to introduce a third level of donor tracking (eg. a family that solicited a business). You may include this information in the donation comments.

  7. Add donor options for SASE and Online Application

We have many donors that have specific procurement processes. Some require self-addressed stamped envelopes (SASE) be included with procurement letters. And others require that donations be requested through an online portal. It would be helpful if there was a drop down box that allowed us to sort our donors by this category, so that we can assign one volunteer to work on all of them instead of bringing everyone up to speed on how to do this. Our current workaround is to indicate these donor preferences on the "address" line, but that is time consuming and less than ideal.

We would not be able to anticipate every specific donor option that an organization might want to attach to a donor. This is why we have Affiliations as a general purpose way of tagging and searching donors, and Donor Notes as a way of attaching miscellaneous text notes to donors.

  8. Online Sales of Raffle Tickets

On the home page, there is a list including "buy tickets", "buy sponsorships", "donate money", etc. There should also be listed "buy raffle tickets" or "raffle" where the raffle can be described and tickets sold. So many auction events also sell raffle tickets.

Raffle tickets are considered “games of chance” (and online raffles therefore considered online gambling) and regulated state by state. Different laws apply in every state, making it unfeasible for us to provide this feature.

  9. Allow setting of eBidding times at the category level

It would be great to be able to configure categories with eBidding times. Then everything in that category would default to that eBidding time frame.

Sorry, this is not possible due to the fact that packages can be listed under numerous categories.

  10. Remove Solicitors after they have been removed as event staff

After the Administrator removes event staff, have the app clear any donors those event staff were tied to as a solicitor.

Solicitors are merely properties of donors, just as the donor’s name and address are. It does not make sense to delete a donor just because the associated solicitor was removed.

  11. Allow Administrator to Oversell Admission Tickets

When our event was 'full' we had a ticket holder cancel and a new couple wanted to purchase tickets. We didn't want to up the capacity amount and reopen the ticket site in case someone else swooped in to buy tickets. As an admin it would be awesome to have the ability to do that even with our event 'full'.

Sorry, if you set a maximum seating capacity or maximum number on ticket sales, the application needs to respect that maximum.

The correct way to handle your situation is to disable online ticket sales, then increase the quantity of tickets available. This will allow additional tickets to be sold through the Control Center only.

The invoice is the method by which a sale is recorded. Removing an item from the invoice removes the record of its sale.

  13. Allow raffle ticket purchases to be recorded after the raffle is "won"

Inevitably every year we have data entry errors where someone has missed entering purchases before the auction is over. If these purchases are raffle tickets, we have no way of correcting the error and recording the purchase - the system gives a hard stop and will not allow the sale to be entered. Perhaps this hard stop could be changed to a stern warning in order to allow correction of missed sales.

The way to correct this mistake is to temporarily retract the raffle winner (under the raffle package’s purchase history). Then, you may record the additional ticket sales and re-record the winner.
